Why This Matters

Youth from marginalized communities often face significant barriers to success, including limited access to quality education, financial instability, and a lack of role models. Without scholarships and mentorship, many of these students are left without the resources or guidance needed to pursue higher education and achieve their full potential. Financial struggles can deter them from even considering college, while the absence of mentorship leaves them without support to navigate academic and career challenges. While scholarships ease financial barriers, it is mentorship that empowers students to fully leverage those opportunities—enabling them to break the vicious cycle of poverty, realize their potential, and become leaders who inspire change.
Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation (NSF) has partnered with BCPT to support students from low-income communities through a holistic program. Together, we they identify and select meritorious students who would benefit most from the initiative. Beyond financial assistance through scholarships, students receive tailored career guidance sessions that expose them to diverse professional paths and also attend workshops that focus on personal development. A key feature of the program is its mentorship component, pairing each student with a mentor. This continuous support, including regular check-ins and guidance, helps students navigate academic and career challenges with confidence, promoting long-term success, confidence, and personal growth.

Our Intervention

The Difference We’ve Made

For nearly two decades, the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation has been committed to empowering students from underserved communities through its scholarship and mentorship initiatives. In partnership with BCPT, the program has reached out to over 431 students, providing them with the financial support and guidance needed to pursue their education and build meaningful careers. The long-term impact is evident—not only in the success of its alumni but also in the way many of them have returned to the program as mentors. Their journeys come full circle as they now inspire and guide the next generation, creating a lasting cycle of empowerment.
