DONOR ADVISED FUNDS

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is the simplest and most accessible way to organize your giving. It allows you to set up a charitable fund, receive immediate tax benefits from your donations, and recommend grants to charities on your own timeline. With a DAF, you can engage family and friends in your giving, all while avoiding the administrative hassle of managing individual donations or compliance requirements.

WHY GIVE

Giving is for Everyone

No matter your age or income, you have the power to make a difference.

Donors please note

  • The receipt here is not valid for tax deductions. Donors can claim deductions only with the official receipt 10BE.
  • To comply with regulations, NGOs must file an annual donation statement (Form 10BD) with the Income Tax Department, including donor details. Donors are therefore requested to provide their PAN and passport/nationality information for identification as either local or foreign contributors.
  • This is under updated regulations (Income Tax Act 1961 and FCRA 2010).
  • We assure all donors that we handle your data securely. Your support helps us stay compliant and continue serving communities in Mumbai.

ELIGIBITY FOR OUR GRANTS

  1. Geographic Focus: We focus on organizations serving the Mumbai area.
  2. Scale of the Non-profit: We prioritize supporting smaller and mid-level, up-and-coming non-profits.
  3. Community Focus: The project or program funded must benefit the
local community.
  4. Clear Mission and Impact: The organization must have a clear mission and demonstrate how the project will meet community needs with measurable outcomes.
  5. Funding Approach: We prioritise funding to projects that are underrepresented and not heavily funded by larger organizations.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: NGOs must have valid regulatory documents, ensuring adherence to legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  7. Capacity Building Participation: NGOs that are part of the cohort of BCPT’s Capacity Building workshops are given priority.
