Trustee

A distinguished academician and social work professional, Dr. Chakrabarti is a Trustee of BCPT since 2016. She envisions the Trust that acts as a catalyst for positive change by supporting grassroots initiatives and innovative solutions. Former Pro Vice Chancellor of SNDT Women’s University, she has led impactful community programs, developed e-content for PG programmes, guides Ph.D. scholars, and publishes in professional as well as popular media. A Fulbright and DAAD fellow, she has contributed significantly to policy, research, and university governance. Her work has been widely recognized, earning her multiple national and international awards, including the prestigious International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame Award (2024), with her contributions permanently exhibited in the Hall of Fame situated at the University of Oklahoma.

ELIGIBITY FOR OUR GRANTS

  1. Geographic Focus: We focus on organizations serving the Mumbai area. 
  2. Scale of the Non-profit: We prioritize supporting smaller and mid-level, up-and-coming non-profits. 
  3. Community Focus: The project or program funded must benefit the 
local community. 
  4. Clear Mission and Impact: The organization must have a clear mission and demonstrate how the project will meet community needs with measurable outcomes. 
  5. Funding Approach: We prioritise funding to projects that are underrepresented and not heavily funded by larger organizations. 
  6. Regulatory Compliance: NGOs must have valid regulatory documents, ensuring adherence to legal, financial, and regulatory requirements. 
  7. Capacity Building Participation: NGOs that are part of the cohort of BCPT’s Capacity Building workshops are given priority.
